101 activated alumina is a ball-shaped activated alumina widely used for drying fluids including water. Although all molecules can be adsorbed by 101 activated alumina to some extent, its strong polarity can achieve preferential adsorption for different molecules. The pressure of gas, concentration, molecular weight, temperature and other gas mixture will affect the adsorption effect. Usually, the size of 101 activated alumina is spherical 1/8(Φ3-4mm), 3/16(Φ4-5mm), 1/4(Φ6-7mm).
101 activated alumina can be used for drying almost all gas and fluids. The removal of water vapor is absolutely necessary for an efficient production and fluid transportation process. Φ5-6mm 101 activated alumina is usually used for the water vapor absorption in which the minimum gas pressure drop is required. Φ4-5mm 101 activated alumina is suitable for the drying of fluid and the absorption of other fluid. 101 activated alumina is also applicable for the drying of industrial compressor gas. It can maintain great performance at a low dew-point temperature, so 101 activated alumina is suitable for drying machines with various sizes. It can be utilized for gas drying at a regeneration environment (350 ~ 600°F) and in PSA environments.
2. The removal of acidic impurity
Acidic impurity can also be removed with the use of 101 activated alumina, such as the removal of redundant halogen compounds and water during the chlorination and fluorination of hydrocarbon compounds.
1. Uniform spherical size
101 activated alumina can be used for drying high pressure gas with minimal pressure drop. Its uniform spherical size prevents the adsorptive separation in the air-control charging process, which reduces gas channeling and makes the whole process more effective when using a drying absorption tower.
2. High compressive strength
101 activated alumina has high compressive strength which ensures the gas to go through the absorption tower quickly. And the high compressive strength can also help the absorption tower to dry the gas more efficiently. 101 activated alumina effectively prevents the channeling of ammonia. Besides, with the high compressive strength, it can also dry acidic material such as the gas and liquid in CO2.
3. Low abrasion
101 activated alumina has very low abrasion property, which reduces the dust generation during the gas or liquid conveying process, makes sure the minimized gas pressure drop during the operating process, and prevent the reflux of gas and the plugging of filter. So it is usually used with gas which includes some dust.
4. Huge absorption quantity
With high specific surface area and specially-made pinhole distribution, 101 activated alumina can absorb a large amount of water vapor. Because of the excellent design and effective regeneration of absorption tower, 101 activated alumina can reduce the emission of waste water (such as: the dew point). Besides, the great crystal stability makes sure the long service life of 101 activated alumina.
